The British 8th Army was comprised of men from around the British Commonwealth. Australians, New Zealanders, South Africans, Indians, and Polish troops all joining their British counterparts in the Western Desert. More popularly know as the "Desert Rats, the 8th army faced the combined threats of Italian & German forces through searing temperatures and inhospitable terrain. Through it all, they emerged victorious.
